Pharmacological effects:
Docetaxel is a paclitaxel anti-tumor drug that exerts anti-tumor effects by interfering with the microtubule network necessary for cell mitosis and interphase cell function. Docetaxel can bind to free tubulin, promote the assembly of tubulin into stable microtubules, and inhibit its depolymerization, resulting in the loss of normal function of the production of microtubule bundles and the fixation of microtubules, thereby inhibiting cell growth. Mitosis. The binding of docetaxel to microtubules does not change the number of protofilaments, unlike most spindle-toxic drugs currently in clinical use.
Indications:
For the treatment of advanced breast cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. It is also used to treat tumors such as head and neck cancer, small cell lung cancer, gastric cancer, and ovarian cancer.
